Katie's story.........
Katie was a shelter dog who was returned four times - she was only 1.5 yrs old when we met her. She was afraid of men, possibly abused and desperately wanted a chance.
When we met her, she warmed up to John right away so we figured we could work with her. It wasn't always easy, sometimes heartbreaking - knowing how hard things must have been for her, but we kept at it.
Obedience classes, exposing her to new situations and agility classes. We got her into agility to build her confidence and give her an outlet for her boundless energy. We never counted on becoming addicted!
Today, Katie is a happy and confident dog and is winning ribbons in agility trials.
Yes, she still has occasional uneasiness with men, but she (yes, SHE) is determined to get over it and she wins over everyone she meets.
There are so many shelter dogs with stories like Katie's. What do they all have in common? Big hearts that just want another chance and a good home.
